The Métis Nation of Alberta has sixteen Métis Employment Service (MES) centres throughout the province to provide labour market services to non-settlement Métis. The MES centres provide a variety of services including pre-employment services, career counselling, job referral, job search workshops, employment assessments, and labour market information. The MES also works with clients seeking to access funding through the Labour Market Development Program. Funding ranges from short term training to up to 2 years in targeted occupations. Clients meeting the LMDU criteria can be sponsored for tuition, books and other school fees in addition to a training allowance.
