Environment Canada offers the Science Horizons Youth Internship Program. This program offers promising young scientists and post-secondary graduates hands-on experience working on environmental projects under the mentorship and coaching of experienced scientists and program managers.
Foreign Affairs Canada
This site is a one stop shop for browsers. Whether you're interested in an internship, first career programs or summer SWAP positions you will find information here. Some programs are for youth, age 18-30, while others are for youth up to 35 years old. Navigate the site thoroughly because each program has different criteria. Some of the internships are paid while others are not.

This site has information on how to apply for summer work whether you're a high school or college/university student. You can also apply for internships through this site if you are a university graduate.

Industry Canada
The Technical Work Experience Program (TWEP) hires students and recent graduates of college/ university level programs in the field of information technology.
Municipal Internships
The purpose of this internship position is to receive training from a municipality in key aspects of municipal management. These positions are 12 months long and can be located anywhere in Alberta. Check out their site for all eligibility and locations.
Natural Resources Canada
This site offers information on employment for qualified Aboriginal students through its Aboriginal Student Employment Initiative. It provides candidates with practical and meaningful employment in scientific, technical or other forestry related fields. Be sure to scroll down to find information about their paid intern program.

This site highlights programs offered to university students including summer employment and internships.
Parks Canada
This site has information on student summer employment opportunities with Parks Canada. They also offer co-operative programs for students and information on employment as well.
Public Service Commission of Canada
This site has information regarding post secondary recruitment as well as a co-op/intern program. The program is open only to post-secondary students who are enrolled in a co-operative education or internship program where work experience is a mandatory requirement for graduation.
Public Service Human Resources Management Agency of Canada
Internship programs offered in Calgary through the YMCA for non-graduates and high school graduates.
Textile Human Resources Council
The council has a wage subsidy/internship program for youth 15-30 who are recent grads; you need to apply through them by registering.
United Nations Association of Canada
The International Placement Programme offers Canadian university and college graduates valuable first paid career related work experiences in a United Nations (or UN-related) setting. The eligible age group here is between 19 and 30 years old.
Wood Manufacturing Council
Career Focus Program offers employers the chance to access some of the skills that WMC's Human Resources needs research indicates could further strengthen our sector, skills such as business, marketing, design, engineering or other technical abilities.
